The Johann-Adam-Möhler-Institute owns a scientific specialized library for ecumenical theology. It comprises about 150.000 volumes, roughly 200 current periodicals and an enormous amount of reference books. The library focusses on ecumenical, denominational and theological works written by authors of different denominations: books of sermons, hymn- and prayerbooks, agendas and collections of laws as well as theological standard works and specialized literature from the rank of theological disciplines.
Represented are above all the areas of Lutheranism, Reformed Theology, Anglicanism and Free Churches, but as well Orthodoxy, Special (Christian) Communities, Judaism and other Non-Christian religions. Furthermore available are the publications of the Ecumenical Council of Churches, the worldwide Confessional Families, the European Conference of Churches et. al.
Visitors can use electronic catalogues to search for works purchased since 1990. Stocks that have been purchased earlier can be found in the card catalogue by searching for authors, titles or keywords.
Different databases make it possible to also search for stocks outside the institute.
